Many smiles, a few regrets. That's how the European Championship in Baku (AZE) folded for the Fiocchi Team, who faced the best shooters of the Old Continent at the Baku Shooting Centre.
Three Golds, two individual ones and a mixed one, three Silvers and one Bronze, secured in the three Shotgun events: Double Trap, Trap and Skeet.
France's Lucie Anastassiou and San Marino's Arianna Perilli both secured the brightest medal, respectively claiming the women's Skeet and Trap title, while Italy's Giovanni Pellielo and Jessica Rossi climbed atop the podium in the Trap Mixed Team event, which was recently added to the Olympic Programme for Tokyo 2020.
Italy's Gabriele Rossetti, the current Olympic Champion of the men's Skeet event, secured two medals in less than 24 hours: first pocketing the individual Silver at the end of a thrilling match, then claiming the team mixed Bronze, where Lucie Anastassiou of France took Gold.
Among the junior shooters of our team, then, three young Italian shooters pocketed a medal: Jacopo Duprè De Foresta placed in 2nd place in the men's Double Trap Junior final, securing the Silver; Emanuele Buccolieri secured the Bronze in the Trap Men Junior; while Elia Sdruccioli placed 2nd in the men's Skeet Junior, also taking Silver.
