The sixth stage of the Biathlon World Cup, celebrated in the Slovenian plant in Pokljuka from January the 23rd to the 26th, marked Lisa Vittozzi’s returns to her highest level.
The Italian athlete got near to the podium in the individual race, ranking 4th, and she conquered the first medal of the season in the mass start race: silver medal, behind the Swedish athlete Hanna Oebgerg.
In addition to a regained fitness on skis, the athlete from Sappada has shown impeccable precision at the shooting range, where she uses the .22 Biathlon line by Fiocchi Munizioni, like the entire Italian national team.
“I’ve been working on myself a lot to reach this result - commented Liza Vittozzi at the end of the races - Things have not always gone as I wanted this year, but I tried to get at the root cause of the problems, and I hope to have definitively solved them. I wish this is only the beginning of my comeback”.
Thanks to these results, Vittozzi now ranks 10th in the general ranking, which is led by Titil Eckhoff form Norway, followed by Italian Dorothea Wierer, reigning World Champion.
The Biathlon World Cup will take a few days break before to arrive in Antholz, Italy, where the World Championships will be held from 12 to 24 February.
