The shooting sport international season will start on the warm layouts of Acapulco, in the Mexican state of Guerrero, where shooters of the Fiocchi Team will begin their four-stage journey that will see them compete in four ISSF World Cup competitions and in the long-awaited ISSF World Championship in Lonato (ITA).
Here’s the detailed schedule of the season:
From March 15th to March 26th: ISSF World Cup in Acapulco (MEX)
From April 5th to April 16th: ISSF World Cup in Al Ain (UAE)
From May 7th to May 18th: ISSF World Cup in Changwon (KOR)
From June 30th to July 11th: ISSF World Championship in Lonato (ITA)
From August 13th to August 23rd: ISSF World Cup in Lahti (FIN)
Two athletes will make their debut in the Fiocchi Team lineup, both of them coming from the austral hemisphere: 23-year-old trap shooter James Willett of Australia, and 27-year-old skeet shooter Chloe Tipple of New Zealand.
The three Italian pillars of the team – Giovanni Pellielo, Gabriele Rossetti and Jessica Rossi, – are all returning for a new season alongside Fiocchi, while an eye should be kept on the rising talent of Lucia Palmitessa, in her first season as a senior athlete.
Along with the prestige of a World Cup medal, Olympic quota places for Tokyo 2020 will also be up for grabs during the season. The countdown has begun.
