Curtains closed on the 52nd ISSF World Championship, the final competition of the 2018 international season that took place at the Changwon International Shooting Range, where the best shooters in the world battled fiercely, station after station.

Among them, a consistent group of shooters representing the Fiocchi Team, who competed and won for the company based in Lecco, adding a good number of medals to their season tally.

The front cover of the championship is undoubtedly taken by Slovakia’s Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova, gold medalist in both the Trap Women and in the Trap Mixed Team event, where she also nailed two Olympic quota places for Tokyo 2020. Also on the Trap Mixed Team podium, Great Britain’s Aaron Heading won bronze.

In the Trap Men Junior final match, Nathan Argiro and Lorenzo Ferrari took two of the three steps: the Australian shooter won gold, while the Italian talent placed 3rd and pocketed the bronze medal.

Later in the competition, Ferrari also added the Trap Mixed Team gold medal, while another Italian shooter — Maria Lucia Palmitessa — won silver in the same event.

Italy’s junior shooter Elia Sdruccioli is Fiocchi’s main protagonist of the Skeet events, after he bested the 2nd place he obtained at last year’s World Championship in Moscow (RUS) and finally won himself the brightest medal.

Finally, among the non-Olympic events, the Fiocchi-branded trio featuring Daniele Di Spigno, Marco Innocenti and Andrea Vescovi climbed on the highest step of the team podium in the Double Trap Men event.

“We’re extremely proud of our shooters, they all proved once again they belong to the top tier of international shooting — said Marzio Maccacaro, Commercial Director of Fiocchi Munizioni — Especially, we’re particularly happy about our junior athletes, who played a huge role in our 2018 season. Congratulations to them all!”
