The 2017 international clay shooting season folded with a Gold and three Bronzes for Fiocchi Team. A season that saw our shooters compete in Acapulco (MEX), Larnaka (CYP) and New Delhi (IND) during the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series, in Moscow (RUS) for the 2017 ISSF World Championship Shotgun, and once again at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi for the final competition of the season: the 2017 ISSF World Cup Final.
Landed in India to compete with the best shooters of the 2017 season, 16 shooters of Fiocchi Team battled for the six seasonal title up for grabs in the Trap, Double Trap, Skeet and Trap Mixed Team events, representing 10 countries and three different continents.
The first medal added to Fiocchi's count was signed by Italy's extraordinary duo Jessica Rossi and Giovanni Pellielo, who took Silver in the Trap Mixed Team, the new event that was recently added to the Olympic Program of Tokyo 2020.
The first individual medal came in the men's Skeet event, where Argentina's Federico Gil secured the Bronze, finishing the season on a high note, after climbing on the highest step of the podium in Larnaka (CYP) last May, when he won the first World Cup medal of his career.
In the men's Double Trap final match, Italy's Davide Gasparini brought another Bronze to Fiocchi's showcase, confirming himself as one of the most positive surprises of the season.
Lebanon's Ray Bassil, finally, placed 3rd in the women's Trap event, claiming the fourth and last medal of the competition for the Fiocchi Team.
Just like Gil, both Gasparini and Bassil climbed on the World Cup podium in Cyprus, where they respectively pocketed Bronze and Silver.
"We're extremely happy. During this season we won medals in each and every competition of the international circuit, finishing with a super positive tally — said Mr. Marzio Maccacaro, Commercial Director of Fiocchi Munizioni — It wasn't easy to match the expectations after the great campaign we had the past Olympic cycle, but these results prove the great quality of our shooters, to whom we extend our huge congratulations. We're very proud to be by their side!"
