Confirming a long-standing tradition, the competition turned into a great and unmatched success for the Fiocchi Team, that collected a number of medals and lifted its athletes on the podiums of all Olympic events.
During the first competition day, it was the Italian athlete Maria Lucia Palmitessa who claimed silver in the junior women's Trap event, and then continued winning by clinching gold at the following Trap Mixed Team event along with her teammate Emanuele Buccolieri. Following them, Fiocchi's shooter Alberto Belluzzo also made it to the podium, while shooting on his home turf here in Porpetto.
In the Skeet event, Fiocchi Team gained a junior women's bronze and men's junior gold medal. It was the French shooter Lea Richard who climbed upon the third step of the junior women's podium, winning her first ever international medal. The Italian flag bearer Elia Sdruccioli did even better, winning the junior men's event with an exceptional new world record of 57 hits out 60 targets in the final.
"We are really satisfied with the results of our young athletes, and we hope that they will repeat such excellent performances at the forthcoming ISSF World Championship in Moscow," said Marzio Maccacaro, Fiocchi's Commercial Director. "On our side, we will keep on supporting youth events and young shooters with passion. Because we firmly believe that the the future of shooting sport is in their hands, and we want to be there with them."
