21/01/2016 - Biathlon: Second Individual Victory for Dorothea Wierer

In the women’s 15km individual event held in Ruhpolding - Germany - an impeccable Dorothea Wierer won her second seasonal gold medal at the Biathlon World Cup, a little over a month after her victory in Ostersund.

The 25 years old athlete from Anterselva finished the competition with no miss on the shooting range, and with a 54”8’ lead on the Finland’s Kaisa Makarainen (1 miss).

The azzurra later commented: “During the latest training days, my arm was shaking on the shooting range, I wasn’t very confident. But during the competition I wasn’t thinking about anything and I trusted my instinct.”

Wierer took the lead of the individual ranking with 120 points, and positioned fifth on the general scoreboard with 436 points, only one point below the fourth place, taken by the Germany Dahlmeier. Congratulations Dorothea!
